Ashby Lemi – Babies 62 and 63

Lolita was doing well in school.  She had had made two really great friends.  Susannah Foss AKA Sus and Tucker Abbott.

Screenshot-94

The three of them were inseparable and where there was one the others weren’t far behind.  On the weekends my house was full of teenagers, but it was something I was use to and actually enjoyed.  Even little Joab loved having the extra people around; especially Tucker.  Joab was a very sweet and kind boy, but I’m sure it wasn’t easy being in a household of woman.  Sure there was Asher, but as I mentioned before he was losing himself in work and was still talking about another move.

Screenshot-2 (2)

“Joab, Honey, it is time to go to bed.”  I would call to him after putting the twins to bed.  After tucking in my son I would head to my own bedroom to read or work on my blog to allow the teens some privacy.

Screenshot-96

On most weekends I would descend my stairs on a Saturday or Sunday morning and find them all crashed on the couch.  I was so glad that my girl had found such great kids to be friends with.

Then at the end of her Sophomore year she told me that she had a friend who was about to graduate and ship out.  He had joined the military and was already slotted to head out to the war.  She had met him when she was a Freshman and he was a Junior and even though she wasn’t as close with him as Tucker and Sus she still cared for him a lot.  I didn’t understand why she was telling me about him and when I expressed my confusion she took me by the hand and lead me into the living room and asked me to sit.

“Mom, the reason I’m telling you about him is because I want to throw him a graduation party.”

I gave her a puzzled look.  “Wouldn’t his family do that for him?”

Lolita sat down next to me and rubbed the fabric on her pants.  “Well that is the thing. He doesn’t have much of a family and his grandma can’t afford it.  Donnell’s mom left him with his Grandma when he was two and she never came back to get him.  His grandma was already retired, she had kids later in life, and since the day she took him in they have been living only on her retirement which isn’t much.  He is such a nice guy, Mom, and I just wanted to give him something to remember when he ships out.”  She chewed on her bottom lip waiting for my answer.

Really how could I say no to that?  Finding out you were raising a child with such a kind heart was the most wonderful feeling of all.  I agreed that we would throw this boy a party, but I had to meet him first.  Donnell and I met a few days later and we went over the plans for the party.  He was a very grateful young man and it was my pleasure to throw him a party.

Then it was graduation day for him and the start of summer vacation for my two and their friends.

Screenshot-4 (2)

Screenshot-5 (2)

There isn’t a party out there that doesn’t involve dancing, and dance the kids did.

Screenshot-10 (2)

Oh and we can’t forget karaoke.  The kids had a great time and it warmed my heart to be able to help out a family like this.

Screenshot-141

Donnell’s grandmother, Mimi, was able to make it.  She was sick, but she didn’t want to miss out on her grandson’s graduation.  After the party Mimi and I became friends and we Lemi’s looked in on her while Donnell was away.  He was very grateful  to his grandmother for giving him the life she did and it was just refreshing to see such a great family.

Screenshot-7 (2)

A few days after the party Donnell came to say good-bye.

Screenshot-8 (2)

“Thank you so much for the great party.”  He whispered into her ear as he pulled her into a tight hug.

“It was my pleasure.  That is what friends do for one another.”

“I know, but just know that your kindness has been the best gift I have ever received.”

Screenshot-9 (2)

When they pulled apart her light tone changed.  “Be careful out there.  Come home safe and make sure you write me.”   He agreed and with one last good-bye Donnell Houston left Sunlit Tides to join the troops in war.

It is a sad thinking about the men and women out their fighting for our freedom, but they are out there doing the job they choose and for the rest of us life continues.

As summer progressed so did relationships.

Screenshot-89

Tucker and Lolita started to spend time together just the two of them when Sus was out with her family or her boyfriend.  They found more and more things in common.

Screenshot-83

By the end of the summer they were an official couple.  It was something Lolita had to get use too, but she really, truly liked Tucker Abbott and they made a cute couple.  It was a story she couldn’t wait to write to her Pen Pal Donnell about.

~~

DEAR DONNELL

Screenshot-91

The summer has been great.  Tucker, Sus and I have had a great time just hanging out and enjoying the sun, beach and each other.

Screenshot-14

Tucker even taught me how to play hacky sack and I am actually pretty good at it.

Oh and guess what?  Tucker and I are now dating.  He is the sweetest guy.  I just can’t believe that I’m in a relationship.   It is such a foreign and wonderful feeling.  I just know that when you get home you will find a girl as great as my Tucker and you will know what I am talking about.

I hope you are well.

Stay safe

Your friend
Lolita Lemi

DEAR LOLITA

Screenshot-11 (2)

Well  it is hot over here.  There isn’t much to do, but we do get some time off.  When that happens we hang around camp and play basketball….

Screenshot-13 (2)

or some ping pong.  I have found out that I am pretty good at it.  Not like Forrest Gump or anything, but I am undefeated in my platoon.

Screenshot-14 (2)

The guys I am stationed with are all really great guys.  They tell me about their wife’s or girlfriend’s; some of them have kids and their stories makes me wish I had, had more in Sunlit Tides before I left.  It just makes me that much more determined to find someone when I return home.

Screenshot-16 (2)

But to be honest is rains a lot here and I find myself just thinking.  I think about you and your family.  I think about how you are all wonderful people and that you should feel lucky that you are part of such a unique and amazing family.

As for you and Tucker I knew it was only a matter of time.  He has always been sweet on  you.

Your friend,

Donnell Houston

DEAR DONNELL

I thought about what you said in your last letter and you are right.  I am blessed to have such a great family.  Sometimes I feel out if place that mom has so many kids and all with different men, but she and Asher do a great job with us and we are all loved.  So thank you for reminding me that my life could be worse.

Speaking of my mom’s challenge.  She is pregnant with the next baby.  The dad is the famous challenge father Aiden Swan.  He wasn’t a planned father, but he came into town for business of some kind and looked up my mom.  They had met when my sister-in-law Dawn Turner took her to his birthday party.

Screenshot-13 (3)

They went on a picnic and spent time catching up.  He filled her in  on the tragedy of his life as well as the love he had and she filled him in on all the good my siblings have done in the sim world.

Screenshot-27

They walked around Sunlit Tides laughing and catching up and then ended their night at the point where they indulged in some coffee.

“So who is your next father?”  Aiden asked my mom.

“I’m not sure.  The next birthstone dad isn’t available right now so I am going to have to figure out something else.”

“Well I am in town for a couple of days why don’t you let me be the next daddy?”  Aiden blushed.

“Really?  You would do that for me?”

“Who wouldn’t jump at the opportunity to be in the famous Ashby Lemi’s challenge?”  Aiden knew the right words to say.

So they made an appointment at the A.I. facility and when Aiden left Sunlit Tides my mom was pregnant.

The prospect of new babies in the house is exciting, but it also means that it will soon be my time to move out of the Lemi house which scares me a bit.

Well be safe and keep in touch.

Your friend,
Lolita Lemi

~~

The letters went on and on and before I knew it two years had passed.

Screenshot-32 (3)

A lot of things had changed.  The biggest being that Mimi Houston, Donnell’s grandmother, had passed away.  I had brought her to my house so that she could be surrounded by people who loved her and she went peacefully.  She is truly missed.  We had become really good friends.

Screenshot-33 (2)

Aiden and I had twins; two healthy rambunctious kids.  A little girl we called Hewitt and a little boy we call Harcus.  It appears they both got my eye and hair color as well as my skin tone, but little Harcus is a witch just like his daddy.

Screenshot-26 (2)

Ireland and Kenley aged into fine young children.  Kenley’s genie powers started to show and Ireland was in awe of her sisters abilities and would often ask her to show her “tricks”.

Screenshot-39 (2)

But with just a little bit of glitter Ireland could pretend she had abilities just like Kenley and that she ruled over the land with them.

Screenshot-37 (2)

However, when they played dress-up Kenley was content in just being a dainty princess.

Screenshot-6 (4)

Joab grew into a loving, nurturing teenager.  He loved all creatures great and small and I have never had a teen quite like him before.

Screenshot-3 (5)

Lolita grew into a stunning woman.  Her plan, after the summer, was to go to the University with Tucker and Sus.  Asher and I agreed to let her stay until the semester started, but then she got some news that rocked her world.

~~

LOLITA’S POV

I was excited to join my best friend and boyfriend at the university in the fall and was thrilled that mom and Asher let me stay, but then I got a phone call that changed everything.

“Hello?”

“Is this Ms. Lolita Lemi?”  The man on the other line asked.

“It is.”

“I’m calling from the Sims Military about Sergeant Donnell Houston.”

I couldn’t help it my breath caught in my throat, but I managed to croak out a question,  “Is he okay?”

“It was injured in a blast and has been in the hospital for the past few weeks.  He is healthy enough to return home and you are listed as his contact.  Are you able to take him into your home during the rest of his recovery?”

I didn’t hesitate,  “Yes..Yes of course I am.”  I knew mom and Asher wouldn’t mind.  She and Mimi had been very close so she would help out Donnell if he needed it.

Weeks went by and finally we got word that he was coming home.  Asher went to the airport to pick him up.

Screenshot-5 (4)

When I saw Asher coming up the walk I ran out the door to greet them, but stopped dead in my tracks when I saw him.  I was mortified as he was in a wheel chair.  I fought the tears back as I helped Asher get him into the house.

Donnell told us that during a blast he had been pinned by a building beam and now he was unable to walk.  My heart broke for him and all I could focus on was helping him get better and over the devastation.

Screenshot-11 (5)

That summer I spent all of my free time with Donnell.  I took him to his physical therapy appointments, to the beach, to lunch and everywhere.  I found myself breaking dates with Tucker and the two of us arguing much more then we should, but I had a strong obligation to help Donnell.

Screenshot-12 (5)

Then about two weeks before I was scheduled to go to the university I went into the room that Donnell shared with my brother Joab and found him sleeping. I decided I would help him get into bed so he could get a decent nights rest, but when I bent over him to pull him from his chair he woke and misread what I was doing.

Screenshot-7 (4)(Thank you Becks Best for making this pose for me)

His hands shot to my face and he pulled me forward.  Sliding his tongue between my lips he kissed me so passionately that when I finally found  the sense to pull away I was breathless.

“What the Hell Donnell  you know I have a boyfriend.”  I was angry but was puzzled that I wasn’t as angry as I should be.

“I know you do and I know you care for him, but you can’t deny there is something between us Lolita.  I love you and I have always loved you.  I want you to be with me.  Marry me.  Have my babies and live a life with me.”

I stood there dumbfounded not knowing that to say……

TO BE CONTINUED:

Thank you readers for once again joining me on a Lemi tale.

I need your help.  I can’t decided who Lolita should be with:

Ashby Lemi – Babies 60 and 61

“UNEDITED”

Screenshot-208

Jenixa continued with her dancing as she entered high school and she became really good at it.  She was the top performer in her dance class and her instructor, Allan Stevens, was very impressed with her skills.

Screenshot-8

One evening she got to class as bit early so she sat down to do some homework when a dreamy eyed kid sat down next to her.

“Hi!” He said a little too enthusiastically which startled Jenixa.

When she regained her wits she looked up at him and gave him a small smile.  “Hi.”

“I’m sorry to be so bold, but you are the prettiest girl I have ever seen.  What is your name?”

She couldn’t help but laugh at this.  Sure she was quite popular in school, having friends from all cliques, but she hadn’t been called pretty before.  Well unless you count her Uncle Logan and her family.

“My name is Jenixa Lemi.  What’s yours?”  She couldn’t keep the laugh out of her tone.

“My name is Cougar Fey.  Why do you find it funny that I called you pretty?”  The boy was generally confused.

Jenixa decided to skip over that part and just address the part about the boys last name being Fey.  “Your last name if Fey?  My uncle Logan’s last name is Fey.”

Panic washed over this boy’s face.  “You’re related to Logan Fey?”

“Well not by blood.  He is the father of two of my siblings and well we just hit it off.  We kind of adopted each other.”  She laughed again.

“Oh good.”

“Good?”  It was her turn to be confused.

“My real, blood uncle is Logan Fey.  I was worried we were related.”  He was a very forward young man.

“Oh..”  Blush filled Jenixa’s green cheeks.  “I don’t mean to be rude Cougar, but I want to finish this assignment before my dance class starts.”

Screenshot-12

“Well then I will join you.”  As they studied Cougar kept on talking.  He told her he was in Sunlit Tides to participate in the dance academy and was staying with this Uncle Logan.  There wasn’t a dance studio where he came from and since the class was very small, there were only four students before Cougar, Mr. Stevens accepted him right away.

Finally the class got underway and Mr. Stevens was so excited to have Cougar with them.  Bringing the class to five allowed him to do the end of the year recital he had always wanted to do so he conveyed his plan right away.

Screenshot-225

All the kids were excited and they got to work right away.  They practiced three nights a week and on Saturday’s.

Screenshot-28

Jenixa, Julie, Farah and Aiden were already great friends having grown up together, but it wasn’t long before they had all accepted Cougar.  He fit with them like a puzzle piece.  Not only was he fitting well with the group he and Jenixa were growing closer, but any time he asked her out she made it into a group thing.  He didn’t mind, as he loved the rest of them, but he was getting frustrated.  He wasn’t sure where their relationship was heading or if they were even on the same page in regards to that.

~~

Screenshot-247

While Jenixa was busy with her dance, Lolita was busy with….well…everything.  First it was bird watching, then it was bug collecting, then studying bees, and playing with Cesar and then rock collecting.  She was always outside doing something “important” and I couldn’t do anything but encourage her curiosity, but that meant that it was just Joab and I most days.

I spent my days observing my special little boy.  His father is a genie and he was born human but as I watch him I find that he isn’t without some of his father’s special talents.  He seemed to bond with the animals around the house.  It was almost as if he understood them.

Screenshot-250

The cats loved him and they always wanted to be around him.  When he was outside Cesar sought him out.  I also noticed that if you were upset or just having a bad day an energy radiated off him and even though you really didn’t want to talk about it and knew he didn’t understand you , you found yourself telling him your woes.  He truly was something special.

Screenshot-11 (2)

Not to worry.  Lolita and I had our special time as well.  After her great adventures outside she would ask me to cuddle up on my bed and watch cartoons with her.  Granted she fell asleep most of the time but I enjoyed the bonding moments with her.

Screenshot-13 (2)

Of course there were days she didn’t drift into dreamland and she filled me in on all of her adventures.  These days with my kids go by way too fast.

~~

Honolulu Sapphire

As always the challenge must go on and the next birthstone daddy was ready to partake.  His name was Honolulu Sapphire and yes he too was a genie.

He popped into town and in no time at all I was pregnant.  He told he had some business to attend to in another country, and he gave me some contact numbers to let him know as soon as the baby was born.  He left with a friendly hug.

~~

Screenshot-229

Summer vacation was just around the corner and it was time for Jenixa’s big show.  Asher and I dressed in our best outfits and headed down to the dance hall.  I have to admit the show was pretty impressive and all the kids were great, but I was so very impressed with my little girl.  She was such a superstar.

Screenshot-235

The performance ended with a solo from the girls in the class.  Their moves were full of beauty and grace.

Screenshot-236

Jenixa was a vision in peach.  I was in awe that a child of mine had such talent, such grace and charm.  It was a stunning piece.

When the concert was over Jenixa asked us to let her stay for a while.  Mr. Stevenson had an announcement to make.  She would catch a ride back with Cougar.   Asher and I agreed and after chattering to some of the other parents we headed home.

Screenshot-14

Back stage Mr .Stevenson gushed about how good the kids were and he informed them he had an announcement to make.

“I just got word that both Jenixa and Cougar have been accepted into the Sunset Valley dance company.  Jenixa has been accepted as a principal and Cougar in the line.”

The kids cheered this was great news.

“Right after graduation the two of you will be heading to Sunset Valley.  Your first performance will be Swan Lake.”

Screenshot-15

The news made my even keeled girl a bit emotional.  Mr. Steven’s pulled her into a hug and congratulated her.  It was truly some wonderful news.

Screenshot-20

The next day was a Sunday and Asher and I took the kids, who had become a staple at our home, to the beginning of summer festival.  They partook in eating contests, which Farah always won, snow cones, water balloon fights, face painting and skating.

Screenshot-4

Screenshot-25

At first skating wasn’t Lolita’s thing, but she soon got the hang of it and was cursing around the rink.

Screenshot-23

The day was coming to an end and Cougar pulled Jenixa aside.  Without realizing that she was on a hill he tried to take her by surprise and kiss her catching her chin in the process.

Screenshot-24

“What on earth do you think you are doing Cougar Fey?”  She was quite upset with his actions.

“Listen here Jenixa Lemi.  I love you and I want you to be my girl.”  His old self surfacing.

“Don’t do this Cougar….don’t do this!”

“Do what?  Tell you how I feel?”

“You’re going to ruin our friendship.”  She hissed.

“Well honestly my dear at this point it is all or nothing.  After the summer we are moving to a new city and if you aren’t willing to return my love then I will have to move on.”

“That isn’t fair.”  Jenixa was confused about her feelings and Cougar could see it in her eyes.

Screenshot-22

He lunged forward, scooped her up into the air and brought her lips down to his.  As soon as their lips met Jenixa stopped struggling and relaxed into his embrace.  When they pulled apart he smiled at her and said, “Why isn’t it fair?”

“Because I don’t want you to move on from me.”  She whispered back.

From that moment on they were more inseparable than ever.  Ready to face their new lives together.

~~

Screenshot-17 (2)

By the end of the summer my little ballerina, and her boyfriend, had aged up and were ready to venture on to their new lives.

Screenshot-16 (2)

She had aged into a fine young woman and I knew she would make her dad and I proud of her.  We said our good-byes and I held her tight.  When I finally had to let go, my little bird flew out the door.

~~

Next it was birthday time at the Lemi’s and both Lolita and Joab aged up.

Screenshot-3 (3)

Lolita aged into a beautiful teenager.  Most of her feature are attributed to her dad.  Her big blue eyes were noticed by all.

Screenshot (4)

Joab, oh my little Joab.  He grew up into such a sweet and kind hearted little man.  He was respectful and empathetic to those around him, and he loved to dance.

Screenshot-19 (2)

Finally our house was blessed by babies 60 and 61.  Ireland and Kenley Sapphire Lemi.  Both of them inherited their father’s blue skin, but that is where their similarities end.  Ireland got her daddies hair color, my eye color and was human.  Kenley got her grandma Mirid’s hair color, her dad’s blue eyes and she was a genie.  I can’t wait to see how these two will bless our lives.

Thank you all for reading.  You are why I continue doing this challenge.  I hope you like how I have little story lines for the kids.  I have a plan in mind for Lolita and Joab that I hope you all enjoy.

I would love to hear what you think and you can tell me in the comments.  Please and thank you.

Ashby Lemi – Baby 59

“And we went to a festival…..and and we played basketball..…and and we even kissed in the rain.”  Hardy was running his mouth about a mile a minute telling us about his visit to see his best friend Izzy Daniels in Crystalline Cove.

“You did what?”  I raised my eyebrow up at my son.  I was just teasing him, but he didn’t know that and that is what makes being mom the best.

Hardy clapped his hand over his mouth, “I didn’t mean to tell you that.”  He stared at me with wide eyes.

I laughed and rubbed his back.  “I know baby, its okay.  I won’t let the cat out of the bag.”  I gave him a reassuring smile.  I didn’t like hearing that my teenage boy was out kissing girls I had never met, but they live far enough apart, right?

Raven, who had been sitting at the table listening in silence, let out a heavy sigh, got up from the table causing the chair to tip over, and ran to her bedroom.

Hardy stood up from his own chair and went to pick up Raven’s, “What’s wrong with her?”

I pushed my chair away from the table and stood up, “I’m not sure she’s been acting very odd, since you left.”  I headed towards Raven’s bedroom.

I slowly opened her door, “Honey, are you okay?”

My little girl lay on her bed, face down, just sobbing and it broke my heart to see her that way.  Walking to her bed I sat down at the edge and rubbed her back as she cried.  When her sobs became less serious  I pulled her up from her laying position into my arms hugging her close to my chest, stroking her hair  I asked, “What is a darling?”

Taking deep breaths trying to stop her crying altogether she finally uttered one word.  “Werewolf.”

Here we go again.  My little girl, for some odd reason, thinks that Hardy gets the things he wants in life because he is a werewolf.  What she doesn’t understand is that he works for the things he wants and she could obtain what she wanted as well if she did the same thing.  I felt bad for my daughter that she was always so upset about the fact that she wasn’t a werewolf, but at the same time it was becoming tiresome and the beautiful bonding moment became a full fledged argument.  I left her room feeling frustrated that one of my children couldn’t appreciate what they had been blessed with.

After that Time moved along quickly.  The kids were doing great in school, even Raven who had withdrawn from the rest of us, and Lolita was a handful.  She required a lot of attention and everyone pitched in to help.

Screenshot-359

Screenshot-342

Screenshot-360

Hardy spent every spare moment he had either on the phone or the computer with his friend Izzy and after talking to Mr. Daniel’s on the phone I felt quite comfortable with their budding relationship.  Raven spent a lot of time studying or at the local library.  Anything to avoid her family, but I couldn’t complain as she was bring home wonderful grades.   Jenixa was a joy with her sweet outgoing personality and she was very popular in school and was even involved in dance.  The only thing in my household that wasn’t going well was Asher and I.  He and his partner in the restaurant have been presented with an opportunity to open a resort in a place called Island Paradise and he eagerly wanted to pursue it which meant that he wanted me to uproot my life and the kid’s life yet again.  I understood that it was a great opportunity for him, but I was tired of moving and already so many of my children were spread out.  We found ourselves in argument after argument and that was only if he was home.

Screenshot-363

Despite our fights life has to go on and soon Lolita had learned her skills and it was time for me to find the next father in the challenge.  The next birthstone father was unavailable and I wasn’t sure what I was going to until I met an interesting fellow named Alchemy Legerdemain (Thank you Tantalizing Sims for making him for me).  He was a genie.  No I’m not lying he was a true genie and he was in town on business.  He had read about my challenge and was contemplating looking me up to see if he could participate when he ran into me at the park.  He took out meeting as a sign.  I agreed to let him be the next father and soon I was pregnant.

Then before I knew it, it was time for another Lemi mass birthday part.

Screenshot-369

Hardy aged into a handsome, just like his father Logan Fey, man.  Just a few days after their birthday Izzy made her way to Sunlit Tides.  I have to admit she is a charming girl who was raised right.  I agreed to let her stay with us until the two of them could find a house.

Screenshot-387

However, Hardy had more plans than just to moving in together.  So two days before they were to move into their new house he took Izzy to the park, they had grown to think of as their park, and proposed to her.  Of course she said yes and wedding plans were in the works.  (See Jackson Daniel’s blog for the full wedding).

Screenshot-371

Raven aged into a stunning young woman.  She had no idea what she wanted to do with her life, but she had decided she wanted to go to college.  We did the paper work and she was set to leave soon after Hardy and Izzy’s wedding.

Screenshot-373

Jenixa aged into a fun and laid-back girl.  When she wasn’t donned in her dance costumes she enjoyed T-shirts and jeans.  She was very good-natured and got along with most everyone she met.

Screenshot-377

Lolita is still a handful as a child, but that is because she is interested in everything and anything and wants to do it all.

Hardy and Izzy's Wedding 1

Hardy and Izzy's Wedding 2

Hardy and Izzy's Wedding 3

Hardy and Izzy’s wedding was beautiful.  (Pictures curtsey of the Jackson Daniel’s baby challenge) Raven even seem to have a good time.  Ever since she enrolled into college her attitude had one a 180.  She was fun to be around again and I thought that college would really help her find herself.

When she got to the University everything changed and I got a letter from her every week.  I was glad we were back on track in our relationship and I was happy that another of my babies, Song and Rue also attended,  got to attend the university.

Screenshot-412

At first her letters were slightly concerning.  She sounded down and back to her old self, but once she started to make friends the letter started to change.

Screenshot-414

Then her letters talked about the parties she was attending.  She was out there making friends and having fun for the first time in her life.  I wasn’t really keen on the juicers she wrote about but I was glad she was out there making memories and I just had to remind myself that I trusted her and she would be okay.

Screenshot-420

Her major was communications and she made sure to let me know that despite all her fun she was still working hard and maintaining a good GPA.

Screenshot-421

It wasn’t long until the subject of her letters turned to boys, well one boy.  His name was Sterling Sowell and Raven was head over heels with him.

Screenshot-410

She wrote to me about how they met at a rally.  She had attended to see what it was all about and he was just hanging out at the Quad playing kicky ball with a friend.  When their eyes met something, a feeling, a sensation ran up her spine.  Neither one of them could break their eye contact and Sterling was even hit in the face with the kicky ball, good thing they are semi soft and his friend was a bad player.  Sterling walked away from his game, introduced himself and once he had her name he asked her on a date.

Her letter went on to tell me about their first date.  He took her bowling and right before closing time he pulled her into his arms asking her to dance.  She was perplexed by this because they were in a bowling alley and the only music playing was some song with a lot of base.  She had protested at first saying that people would think them to be odd, but he just began to sway with her and said, “I don’t care what people think, do you?”

It sounds like this boy is really pulling my baby out of her shell and allowing her to appreciate the things in her life.

Screenshot-415

However, not all relationships are perfect and during the first full moon she found out a very big secret Sterling had been keeping from her, and when she found out it was like her past was catching up with her.

Sterling was a werewolf and when he went to pick her up that night he hoped that she would understand and still love him the way she had been for all those weeks prior.  When Raven saw him she just stood there dumbfounded and didn’t know what to say.  She had finally thought that she had escaped werewolves and her need to be one.

Screenshot-416

Sterling either thought the silence was a good thing or he was trying to break the silence, but either way he thought it was a good idea to take her in his arms and kiss her.

Screenshot-417

That wasn’t acceptable in Raven’s book.  She shoved him away and fled down the stairs.

Sterling went after her and explained everything.  Has was a born werewolf and he doesn’t normally talk about his condition because he found people were cruel and he felt that he was cursed, but he just tried to embrace who he was instead of what he was.

Screenshot-419

Flowers seem to always aid in an apology or an “Surprise I’m a supernatural being” and when Sterling gave her a bouquet of red roses she knew that she loved him for his heart and it didn’t matter that he was a beast at his core.  After that the two were inspirable.

She would return for break soon and I couldn’t wait to see her.

~~

When she and Sterling arrived home there was a change in the house.

Screenshot-432

I had another new look and ….

I had, had my baby with Alchemy.  I called him Joab.  It was concerning that I had another single birth, but he was such a wonderful little boy.  I was happy to have some bonding time with just him.  He looks like a little mini-me with this father’s wonderfully lovely ears.  Even though he wasn’t born a genie we noticed early one that he had some, well let’s call them talents.

Screenshot-431

Not long after their arrival Raven pulled me aside.  She had something big she wanted to talk to me about.

“Mom, I don’t want you to be upset, but…”

“Raven, why would I be upset?”

“Well…”she rubbed the back of her neck.  “Sterling and I…Um…we are married and we have a baby on the way.”

I looked at my daughter with a stunned expression.  I was happy for her of course, but why hadn’t she told Logan and I she was getting married?  We would have thrown her a big wedding.  And a baby…why hadn’t she told us before this?

“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you but this is something you want to tell in person.”  I looked deep into my daughter’s eyes and saw true happiness.  Something I hadn’t seen since she was a toddler and my heart forgave her right then and there.

“Well I don’t want to be there when you tell your dad.”  I chuckled and I meant it.

We had a great visit and I hugged her tight when she and Sterling left my home forever.  I will never forget my beautiful Raven.  She will make a great mother and the prefect wife.  I can’t wait to hear all about her life.

Screenshot-453

They had a baby boy and named him Kyle.  He inherited my eyes and current hair color and I couldn’t be more proud.  I was ecstatic to hear that they had another baby on the way.

Thank you as always for reading.  I have been doing this challenge for two and a half years.  If it weren’t for those of you that read regularly and the amazing genetics that result in doing this challenge I may have given it up long ago so from the bottom of my heart I thank you.

Please leave me a comment.  I really would love to hear your thoughts.

Ashby Lemi’s – Babies 57

Time moved along like time does and the kids were thriving in their new town.  For once the dynamics between two of my children and their father was different from any of my other kids.  This was because Raven and Hardy’s dad was in the challenge community.  Logan knew the importance of being active in his child’s life and he stopped over often to spend time with his kids.

Hardy loved his dad just as much as Raven did, but for some reason Raven had become a daddy’s girl.  Anytime Logan walked into the house, no matter what she was doing, she would toddle over to him, reach her little arms out and say, “Daddy, Daddy, pick me up Daddy.”  Logan would scoop her up and tickle her making angelic giggles escape her lips.

Screenshot-4

It also amazed me that at such a young age she was obsessed about being a werewolf.  Somehow she knew that her dad and brother were different from her and she didn’t seem to like it.  Even though I wasn’t different like them and I tried to tell her that she still didn’t seem to be satisfied with that.

“Mommy, I wanna be woof like Daddy and Harwdy.”  She would say over and over to me when we had or bonding time.

“Baby, you are beautiful and wonderful just like you are.  You are like mommy and that is okay.”  I would tell her.

She would always get upset with me after that and cross her arms over her chest and stick out her bottom lip.  “No..I wanna be woof like Mia.”  Mia is her sister on Logan’s side.  There was no winning with her so I had to distract her with bacon ice cream, a treat she started liking while visiting her dad and watching the little werewolf kids there eat it.

It really worried me that she was so obsessed, but what could I do but hope she grew out of it.

Screenshot-3

Hardy was becoming a handful.  Logan had sat me down and explained that he was a werewolf and that is appears that Hardy had received that trait.  He filled me in on how to raise a werewolf child and I had been following all those instructions, but Hardy was still a handful.  He was a sweet and caring little boy but he had these tendencies and all at once he would start to flail around and then start shredding things up.  It was getting expensive having to replace and fix things.  I just hoped that as he aged he would calm down.

Screenshot-10

My three oldest were in school all day and Asher was at work.  Logan and Becks had their own lives to tend to and I didn’t know anyone else in town yet.  I spent a lot of times with my tot’s watching them and thinking about how fast they grew up.

Screenshot-11

In the morning, after we sent the triplets off to school,  we would go to the park and do some yoga.  It was cute to see them try to copy my moves.

Screenshot-13

That time together was peaceful but often I would sit there and worry about who the next daddy in my challenge would be.

Screenshot-85

“Luna I think you are doing that problem wrong.”  Older sister Lavinnia would help Luna with math which was her worst subject in school, but Lavinnia’s best.

The five children in my household made me so very proud.  The triplets were so very close and the twins were so much fun.

~~

The weather was turning colder and the nights longer and just around the corner was Halloween.  Typically it is my favorite holiday of the year, but this year I felt out of sorts and lonely.  The triplets had a party to go to and Logan had asked to have the twins and Asher had to work.  I agreed to Logan, but the thought of being alone didn’t help the emptiness I felt inside.

Halloween was upon me and after Logan picked up the twins I sat down in the kitchen to dive into a carton of ice cream but hung on the refrigerator I saw a note that said: Go up to the bedroom.  The note was written in Asher’s script so I decided to see what he had waiting for me.  I was sure he had picked up on my mood and decided to try and cheer me up with something.

Laying on the bed was the most amazing costume with another note that said: Put me on.  I figured that he thought that if I dressed up it would help me cheer up.  It was a cute thought and I decided to try it.  I put on the costume and headed downstairs to prepare for the trick or treaters and eat that ice cream, but when I went downstairs I was surprised with all of my friends in their own costumes.

Screenshot-83

We had a great time.  Becks, Logan and Addy came as zombies, Christy Quinn was a circus performer, My boy Newbie and his wife came as fairy folk and Violet and A.J. came as the 50’s couple.  Asher and I were a zombie hunter and victim.  I was so impressed and thankful that my husband flew in our friends and family and surprised me with this.  It was something I truly needed.

I was sad that our out-of-town guests had to leave the next day, but it still had been a grand Halloween.

~~

It was time for another Lemi birthday and since all five children were ageing up we decided to have a pool party.

Screenshot-96

“Hardy, my boy you are going to age up today.  Are you excited?”  I cooed as I looked into the sweet face of my little boy.

My only birthday wish for him was to be able to control his werewolf urges a little better as a child.

Screenshot-101

“It won’t be long now my girl.”  I tickled Raven and we both laughed.

My only birthday wish for her was that she realize she didn’t need to be a werewolf to be beautiful and special.

The party was super fun.  The guest and the kids had a great time swimming, playing and visiting.

Screenshot-103

“Mom look what I can do.”  Weaver called out. I turned just in time to see him do some fancy dive.  It almost gave me a heart attack when he came real close to hitting Luna.

Screenshot-104

The party was a success but I had to admit that I was a bit concerned when Logan was spotted in his werewolf form rummaging in my garbage can.  Remind me to talk to him about that.

Screenshot-105

The triplets turned out stunning.  Lavinnia and Luna with their pink skin, like their dad, and Weaver with his grandma Mirid’s skin tone.  They were all so different and I was looking forward to getting to know the teenagers they were to become.

Screenshot-108

Raven and Hardy, what cutie’s they turned out to be.

“Hey you kids.  Quit jumping on the bed.  You’re going to knock the cats off. ”  They were a rambunctious pair.

Screenshot-112

The night of their birthday was a full moon and poor Hardy couldn’t control changing into his beastly self.  I was a bit disappointed that he was unable to control the change, but at least he didn’t tear anything up.  I guess that is a good start.

Screenshot-113

Poor Raven.  She was still pretty obsessed with becoming a werewolf, but when she saw Hardy change for the first time she fainted over in fright.  I’m really worried about her.  I decided that I needed to have a talked with Logan to see if he thought her obsession was natural or not.  If he didn’t agree then I would have to look into getting her help.

~~

Peridot Guppie

My worries of who the next challenge dad would be was washed away when I got a knock on my door and behind it was Peridot Guppie, the next birthstone dad that had been slotted, asking if I was ready for him.  I asked how he had found me and he told me that he reads my blog and saw that I had used Logan Fey as the last dad.  He was still eager to join so here he was.

Screenshot-129

Peridot blessed me with another baby girl.  It was my first single birth since baby 33 Bay Quinn Lemi.

Screenshot-131

Jenixa Guppie Lemi was a shy, sweet girl who loved “her” cat fire.

Ashby Lemi’s – Babies 55 and 56

What an anomaly; the kids were all in bed and the house was quite.  Asher and I decided to take a little time for ourselves.  We ventured out to the edge of our property and sat down in the soft sand as we gazed at the beauty of the Island.  We sat in silence for a while before I had the urge to whisper sweet nothing’s in my husband’s ear.

“I love you Asher Lemi.”

Asher turned to me and there was pain on his face.  I searched his face and eyes trying to figure out why such a look was crossing his handsome face.

“I love you to Ashby.  We need to talk.”

Those four small words sounded ominous and panic quickly filled me.  “A..About what?”  I choked out.

He took my hands into his.  “We need to move.”

My panic started to subside, but I was still left confused.  What did he mean we had to move?  We had just moved to the island, where was this coming from?

“What do you mean?”

He scooted closer to me.  “I have been given the opportunity to open a second location of the restaurant in a place called Sunlit Tides.  I know we just moved here, but this is a great opportunity.   I hate to uproot you and the kids again, but I don’t think I can pass up this opportunity.”

The two of us sat staring at one another for a long time.  I didn’t know what to say or how to say anything I may have to say.  Finally he broke the silence.  “I understand if you don’t think you can come with me.”  He let go of my hands.

This broke me out of my shock.  The tone in his voice was defeat and surrender.  There was one thing in this world that I knew and that was I loved Asher and I would follow him anywhere.

“When do we have to leave?”  This time I grabbed his hands.

“You will go with me?”

“Babe, I would go with you anywhere.”

“We will need to leave in two weeks.”  He looked away from me as if a bomb was about to it and I rarely lose my cool with my husband, but I have to admit I almost did in this incident.

“What?  That isn’t a lot of time to pack and we had plans for Violet, A.J. and Christy to come visit us in two weeks.”

“I know, but I figured that they could move their visit back two days and come to Sunlit Tides to help us move into our new home.”

Men…..they never seem to think anything through.

However, I have amazing friends and they were happy to be flexible and help us into our new home.

~~

We arrived in Sunlit Tides and I was astounded by how beautiful it was, and when the cab pulled up to our new house I was happy to see my friends already there and were already unloading the truck.

Mason, Marko and Monroe took care of the toddlers Lavinnia, Luna and Weaver in our new yard as we adults dug in to get the truck unloaded and at least the beds set up before nightfall.  It is surprising what five adults can do when they set their mind to it. We accomplished our goal and after Violet and Christy helped me get the kids to bed that night we all had a nice glass a wine and fell into our own beds exhausted.

Asher went right to work the day after we moved to Sunlit Tides and over the next week my friends worked hard to help me get my house in order, but that is not all we did.  We also took some time to enjoy Sunlit Tides.

The second night, after Asher got home from work, Violet, Christy and I went to the famous Sunlit Tide spa and the girls talked me into go with a new look.  After facials and massages I got my hair colored.  I liked my new look, but I wasn’t expecting the greeting I got when we returned home.

“Mom! What did you do to your hair?”  Mason gasped when I went into his room to make sure he was getting ready for bed.

“I got a make-over.  Do you not like it?”

“Um…well…It is pretty, but it is so weird.”  He was truthful.

I chuckled.  “Well my dear boy you will get use to it.  Now get your pj’s on and go brush your teeth.”  I leaned forward and kissed him on his forehead.

“Night mom.”  He gave me a 2nd looks and grabbed his Pjs.

Kids they are just the best thing in my life.

In Sunlit Tides almost every house had a pool and our house was no exception.  After a long day of unpacking and setting up we ladies would sit around the pool with some nice cold tea talking spending time catching up on our lives.  I really missed my friends and I was so glad they were there with me.  Asher was already real busy at work and I would have gone crazy if I had to make this transition alone.

We spent some time out by the ocean, relaxing and enjoying being together.

As I watched my friends I admired how Violet and A.J. always looked at one another.  They truly are meant to be.

The day before my friends had to leave we had a party on the beach.  It was time all my children to enter their next stage of life.  The party was s success and everyone had a great time.

From left to right: Mason, Monroe and Marko.  What handsome, amazing teenagers came home that night.

And three beautiful children.  Lavinnia, Luna and Weaver.

Family photo time.  My kids dressed up in their new outfits and Christy took this lovely photo.  Thank you Christy Quinn.

The next day I took my friends to the airport.  As we waited for them to board we were able to enjoy a nice cup of coffee where Violet made an announcement.

“Ashby, you are one of my dearest friends and my sister-in-law we can’t keep letting so much time go between visits.”

“Honey, we live in different places.”  A.J. tried to interject.

“Shhsh..you..I’m talking.”  Violet held up her finger and looked at her husband.

A.J. chuckled and took a sip of his coffee.  He was use to his wife getting her mind-set on something.

“Anyway since my husband thinks this is ridiculous I’m just going to say this.  We need to see each other more.”  She too took a drink of her coffee and then the announcement came over their plan was boarding.  I said good-bye to my friends and headed home.

~~

My friends were gone, my husband working long hours putting together a new restaurant and all six of my kids were at school.  This left me at home with just the pets.  Don’t get me wrong Fire, Hazel, Tigeress, Sneaky and Cesar kept me busy and entertained, but I was anxious to continue my challenge.  However I wasn’t sure how I would do that since the men that I had lined up before were still back on the island.  I couldn’t ask them to relocate a second time.

Then a turn of events gave me the opportunity I was looking for when I got a knock on my front door.

When I opened my door I saw Becks Best and Logan Fey standing at my door.  I had never met these two in person, but we had become friends on Simbook as they are part of the Challenge Family.  How could I forget they lived in Sunlit Tides.  Seeing them I couldn’t hide my excitement.

“Becks, Logan how did you know?”  I ran out and hugged them both.

“We saw on Simbook that you had moved here.  I ran into Asher in town yesterday and he gave me your address.”  Logan informed me.

“I’m so glad to see you both.”  I gushed.  “I’m going stir crazy being home alone all day.”

“Well come on then.  We are taking you out for the day.”  Becks grabbed my hand and pulled me down the porch steps.

“Where are we going?” I laughed pulling out of her grasp to lock the door.

The three of us had a wonderful day together.  We went shopping, had lunch at a cute place and they showed me all the hot spots of Sunlit Tides.  I was so thankful I would have friends here in Sunlit Tides.  Then as the sun began to set we had dinner at a cute outdoor restaurant by the ocean.

When our meal was done Logan wiped his mouth and stood up.   He extended his hand out to me.  “Ashby can we talk?”

I looked over at Becks, who had a grin on her face, and she wagged her eyebrows up and down at me.  “Um…Sure.”  I replied taking his hand and standing up myself.

He led me to a cute little bench away from the mass of people at the restaurant.  We sat down and he didn’t waste any time.

“Ashby, I know having to move so suddenly has put a crimp in your challenge and I wanted to lend my assistance.”

I looked at him with a puzzled expression.  “What are you talking about Logan?”

“Well I’m a challenge dad and you’re a challenge mom.  I am asking to join your challenge Ashby.  Haven’t you ever been asked this before?”

“Sure I have, but..”  I let my sentence trail off as I began to think.  With Logan’s help I could continue with my challenge and find more dads while I was pregnant with Logan’s baby.

“Ashby are you okay?”  Logan snapped me out of my daze.

“Yes I am more than fine.  Thank you so much Logan.”  I wrapped him in a hug and we agreed to meet the next day to work on the details and make an appoint at the A.I. clinic.

We returned to Becks and took a seat.  “Soooooooo…….did you take him up on his offer?”  She quizzed.

“You knew about this?”  I was baffled.

“Of course I did.  Logan in my best friend.  We tell each other everything.  So will there be more Logan babies running around Sunlit Tides?”

I couldn’t help but laugh.  “Yes there will be.”

“Whooohoooo.”  Becks cheered and Logan and I laughed.

~~

Before I knew it the kittens grew up.  Tigeress looking all regal and pretty.

Sneaky all slim and colorful.

During this pregnancy I just enjoyed it and spent time with my family. Fishing was something the whole family enjoyed doing.

Um Lavinnia my girl are you a bit confused?

Luna that is incredible.

~~

Then before I knew it, it was time for my boys to leave the house.

We said our goodbyes and the boys set off into Sunlit Tides to make their mark on the world.

Monroe, took Sneaky with him, and enrolled in art school.  He is doing really well and is dating a woman by the name of Iris Adams.

Marko, my little Loner took Tigress with him, and he got a job at the science facility.  His ultimate goal is to become a robot cross breeder.  Whatever that is.

Mason, my brave and selfless boy, joined the ranks of the firefighters in Sunlit Tides.  I am so very proud of him, but I worry everyday about getting a devastating call.

~~

Time flies when you are having fun as the old saying goes and this pregnancy was taking a toll on my body, and when I went into labor I couldn’t have been more ready.

I was blessed with two beautiful children from Logan Fey.

Raven Fey Lemi and

Hardy Fey Lemi

Not long after the twins turned into tot’s Hardy began to show signs of odd behavior.  He would snarl at people, growl and tear things to shreds.  I was worried and didn’t know what to do, but when his eyes began to give off an odd, eerie glow I picked up the phone.  I had to find out what Logan Fey failed to tell me before we conceived children together.

Thank you for reading.  I hope you all enjoyed it and as always I would love to hear what you thought of this post.

Ashby Lemi’s – Babies 52, 53 and 54

***WARNING*** There is some adult content in this post. No pictures just story.

SEELY’S POV

Howdy folks. It is me Seely White-Birch Lemi. I write the tale of my youth with a heavy heart, but mom says that writing down things that make you sad or bother you sometimes helps. Let’s hope she is right. I want the pain in my heart to go away. So where to start?

Well I aged into a teenager…whoopee doo!  It was lonely without my twin brother there to celebrate it with me.  Sure my family was great and we had a fun party, but when you are a twin there is just that connection.  It is that knowledge that no matter what there is something there that gets you, someone who understands you, but Jones was gone.  We did skype that night and we were both in awe of how different we looked from one another, but he went on and on about how great his new school was and about a girl name Naddy that he had met.  He was doing well when I was just lonely.

School wasn’t any better for me.  I did get myself acquainted with a couple of kids at school, but none that I would classify as friends, and I did well in school, but I wasn’t invited to parties or out with others my age.  They thought I was odd and they just didn’t understand me.  Since aging into a teenager Jones’ contact became less and less.  He was spending a lot of time with his new best friend, Naddy, and he was quite popular in school.

Being bored and alone all the time I took up reading about the 100 baby challenges.  There are so many out there that I didn’t know where to start so I stated with my sister-in-laws, Dawn Turners, challenge.  It was fun to read about my brother, Newbie, and how he and Dawn fell in love.  Next I read Aunt Violet’s challenge.  I know Asher isn’t my real dad, but he is so much a part of my life that I consider A.J. and Violet my aunt and uncle.  That too was a lot of fun to read because of the ties my family has to the Newbie/Lemi household.  Next up was Christy Quinn’s challenge and I have to say I am eager to continue reading her journey.  Finally I read my mom’s challenge.

I found it strange reading about my mom and my siblings and even though I knew about Connery my heart broke for her when she lost him and then soon after five of my sisters, but what I found even more captivating was the comments people left.   The people were kind and really seemed to care about my mom and it was fun to read their comments.

Then one day one of the comments was directed at me and I was shocked.  It said:

Hi Ms. Ashby, my name is Devin Tuttle and I really love your blog.  I admire you so much for doing the 100 baby challenge and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you and your family.  I have to also say that I have a huge crush on Seely.  Could you possibly tell him hi for me?  It would mean the world.  Thank you.  Devin.

I posted a comment back to her thanking her and soon we ended up exchanging emails and becoming online friends.  Even though she was younger than me she got me.  She understood my quirks and she was just as quirky as I was.  She made me laugh and honestly her friendship got me through the rest of the time I was in high school.

Not long after we became friends we discovered that we would be aging up at the same time and plans were made for her to make a trip to the island so we could celebrate together.  Her mom had agreed because she felt guilt that since her and her dad got divorced Devin didn’t socialize much and she thought that my friendship was a good one for her daughter.

The day arrived and a car brought her to my house.

Isn’t she just cute as a button?

We had a whole weekend together and we had the time of our lives.

It was great spending time with her.  We went to the park, to the boardwalk and swimming.  I never got annoyed or tired of spending time with her.  I didn’t want her visit to end.

The day she had to leave was the day we aged up (I know I don’t look much different).  That morning we had a small party with my family where I aged into a Young Adult.  After the celebration Asher helped me pack my car, and I said good-bye to my family.

Since Devin had a couple of hours before she would age into a teenager the plan was for us to go to dinner (where she would age up) and then I would drive her to the airport and after that Sassy and Sake and I would head to our new apartment.  I couldn’t leave without the dogs and Asher and mom were gracious enough to allow me to take them.

Devin and I dressed in our best clothes, her idea she wanted to feel like an adult, and headed to the bistro where we ate outside so we could let the dogs lay close by so they didn’t have to wait in the car.

We had a good meal and great conversation.  When we were done we walked inside to pay our bill and for Devin to age up.

“Seely, before I age up can I do something?”  Devin asked in her sweet voice.

“Sure what?”  I smiled down at her.

She motioned with her finger for me to come closer and I complied.

She surprised me with a gentle kiss on my cheek.  Her lips were soft and it tickled and I couldn’t help but smile widely.  After the kiss she aged up into a stunning teenager and I couldn’t keep my eyes off of her.  I wished that she and I could have been the same age, but wishing doesn’t get you anywhere.

“Pull the car over there.”  Devin instructed.

“That spot is so far away.  Are you sure?”  I was confused by her requested.

“I don’t want anyone to see our good-bye.” She looked to the floor of the car.

Pulled into the spot where she told me and pulled the keys out of the ignition.  I turned to face her to ask her about this good-bye when she lunged at me her lips engulfing mine.  Sliding onto my lap she undid my pants and slid her tongue into my mouth.

I was her slave; every touch and ever kiss left me in a state of bliss and as the dogs slept in the back we shared ourselves with one another.  After we were done she leaned her forehead against mine and whispered, “I don’t want you to forget me, Seely.”

“I could never forget you.”  I gently ran my hand over her cheek and our lips came together once again, and it was true.  I could never forget her touch or the taste of her lips of the softness of her skin.

I walked her to the terminal after that and gave her a kiss good-bye.  “Call me when you land?”  I couldn’t look her into her eyes.  If I did I would have broken down and begged her to stay but I knew I couldn’t do that.  She had school and a family waiting for her.

“I will.”  Her voice was as sad as I felt.

After we parted I walked back to the car and as I climbed behind the wheel guilt washed over me.  What we shared had been so special and so pure and the only motivation that was leading it was feelings; pure and true feelings, but now as I sat there alone I knew it had been wrong.  We were in two different stages in our lives and we weren’t meant to share that together.  As I drove to my new apartment I vowed to myself that it was a onetime thing and I would take this to my grave, but things change.

I didn’t hear from Devin the next day or the day after.  On the third day after she left I got a devastating call from Devin’s mother.  She was frantic and crying.  She had gone to pick up Devin at the airport and she never showed up.  She called and texted her cell phone and she was about to call me when she got a call from her ex-husband stating that since she had denied him Devin for a few months after she turned into a teenager he took her.  He told her that she would never see Devin again nor would any of the authorities ever find them.  She apologized for taking so long to call me with this news, but she really hadn’t been able to talk.  She had the police out looking but so far they hadn’t found a trace of where they could be.

I just hope she is somewhere out there reading this blog again.  I just want her to know that even though some would find it wrong, I love her and I intend to find her.

~~~
ASHBY’S POV
It is painful to hear that your child is in pain.  Seely called me after he got the phone call from Devin’s mother and Asher and I offered any resources he needed to help find her, but time has gone by and so far no one has come close to finding the poor girl.  I can only hope that her father is a good man and is treating her kindly.
~~
It was time for some more birthday’s at the Lemi’s. On Friday night we celebrated the youngest triplets birthday.
Mason, Monroe and Marko…let me say how handsome you are my young men.  Mason got my new hair color and my mom’s eyes and his dad’s lighter skin tone.  Monroe got that odd hair color that his brother Quinn and sister Tyme got, my steel grey eyes and more of his father’s skin coloring.  Last but not least Marko got his grandpa Lawrence’s hair,  my eye color and his dad’s skin tone.
These boys were such a joy to have around and I was so looking forward to seeing them grow and become great young men.
The following day we had planned a party for Fern, Tyme and Barklay.
“Fire, I’m going to be a teenager today.”  I heard Fern mutter to fire as she hugged him tightly.  “Can I tell you a secret?  I’m kind of scared.  What if the other kids at my new school don’t like me?”
I walked into the room and pulled my girl into a hug.  “Honey, they are going to love you.  You are smart, funny and people will love you.”  Then we heard some music coming from the performance room.  “Come on let’s go check out what is going on.”  She smiled up at me and took my hand.
I guess you’d say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl (my girl, my girl)
Talkin’ ’bout my girl (my girl).
We walked into the performance room to find Tyme and Asher singing the Temptations My Girl.  I think we startled Asher a bit when we entered the room, but he soon got back on track.  When they finished the song Fern and I clapped loudly as Tyme bowed up and down.
“Come on papa Asher bow.”  She ordered pulling on his shirt.
He joined in the fun by taking her hand and bowing with her and we clapped louder.
The laugher finally subsided and I draped my arm over Fern’s shoulders.  “Come on girls let’s go find your brother and blow out some candles.”
Look at these stunning children!!  Another child with her grandpa’s hair color and grandma’s blue eyes and resembles me, Fern is breathtaking.  Barklay with his cool hair and confident manner no doubt will be a popular on in school.  Then there’s my shy girl Tyme.  She is so pretty with her simple features and stunning blue eyes.
Weeks after they aged up Barklay approached me with a request.
“Mom.”  His tone was confident.  “Fern, Tyme and I have been doing some research and we have read about this new town in the sims world.  It is called Moonlight Falls and we would like you to send us there for a week before it becomes out time to age up and move out.”
I wasn’t very keen on sending my teenage children to a town that I had never been to nor had I heard much about, but how would I tell them no?  Being a challenge child their baby, toddler, child and teenage years are cut so short compared to other sims.  I told them I would think about it and went to find Asher to talk to him about this.
Since all the children at home were old enough to be home alone we took a rare opportunity to go for a moonlight walk.  With his right arm tightly around my shoulders and his left hand in his pocket we walked and I told him what the teens asked.
“How do I let them down easy?”  I asked finishing my little tale.
He pulled me closer and inhaled loudly.  “I’m not sure you should. I think they should be allowed to go.”
“But….they will be all alone.  I wouldn’t be able to go with them I have the boys to think about as well.”
“Didn’t you tell me last week that Ash just recently moved to Moonlight Falls?”  He lifted his head an looked at the moon.  The serene look on his face showed there was nothing to worry about.
With his words I remembered the postcard I got from my son Ash, baby number 9 and one of my only two vampire babies, the week before letting me know that he had moved to Moonlight Falls to be around more Supernatural beings.  “How could I have forgotten?”  I yelled startling Asher out of his daze.  I whipped my phone out of my pocket and soon I was chatting away with Ash.  He agreed to let Fern, Tyme and Barklay to stay with him for a week.
When I told the triplets this they were over the moon with excitement and the following week they were on a plane headed to Moonlight Falls.
~~~

BARKLAY’S POV

Ash picked us up at the airport and right from the start we all got along great.  It was cool to have a big brother that was a vampire and we wanted to know all about him and his life.  We talked into the wee hours of them morning ending our talk with Ash expressing his regret that he was unable to show us around town.  He hadn’t lived in Moonlight Falls very long so he was unable to get time off work so soon after starting.  We were okay with that eager to explore the town on our own.

We got a couple of hours of sleep and then did some research on Ash’s computer to see what there was to do and see in Moonlight Falls.  Fern and I were intrigued by all the crazy stuff like getting our fortune told and fishing at the mystical falls, but Tyme wanted to do boring stuff like research on why the town came to be and what kind of begins have been introduced into the sims world so we decided to split up.

“I wonder what they will tell me?”  Fern asked me as we approached the fortune-teller’s wagon.

“I don’t know but….Hey Fern look over there.”  I pointed to a girl with blue wings who had sparkles coming out of her fingers.  “What is that?”

Fern nudged me in the side and gave me a disapproving look,  “It’s a girl you dork.”

“I can see that, but she has wings.”  I let out a frustrated sigh and put my hand to my mouth.  “Hello…Hi…you.”  I called trying to get her attention.

She turned to us and with a smile she headed to us and when I saw her face I gasped.  She was beautiful.  She introduced herself to us as Delphinium Vine from the Moonlight Falls fairies.   I couldn’t believe that I was talking to a real fairy.  I always thought they were myths, stories parents told their children at bedtime, but here she was a real living breathing fairy and I couldn’t stop talking to her.

Fern went into the wagon and got her fortune read, but I couldn’t bring myself to tear away from Delphinium and we talked the whole time Fern was spending a lot of money on useless information.  She later told me she kept thinking that if she kept giving out the money they asked for they would finally tell her something helpful, but it never happened.

When Fern was done Delphinium and I had made plans to meet up (Fern and Tyme were invited too) and she would give us a tour of the town.  We exchanged numbers and Fern and I headed back to Ash’s.  We entered the empty house and found a note from Tyme that she had headed to the graveyard to do some exploring.  Fern and I were puzzled as to why she would head to the graveyard at night, but we trusted that she knew what she was doing and would call if she needed help.

TYME’S POV

After doing a lot of research in the library I learned that many supernatural creatures conjugate to the cemetery at night so I had decided that I wanted to witness this phenomenon myself, after all that is why we were there, right?

The cemetery was beautiful and I was enjoying the atmosphere around me, but I had yet to meet a supernatural being.  I decided to wait on one of the benches for a while when a heard a strange noise coming from deeper in the cemetery.

I approached the noise and was startled to see a sim glowing orange and yelling in pain.  I had no idea what was going on and I was frozen in fear.  When the orange glow subsided he lifted his head high in the air and let out the most terrifying howl one could image and I couldn’t help but gasp loudly.

He quickly turned around and was startled by my presence.  He yelled in surprise and pulled his arms tightly around him.  I didn’t know what to do or what to think so I tried to run for it, but he caught up with me and grabbed my arm.

“I…I’m…sorry I scared you.”  He stammered and let go of me.

I was baffled by his behavior and something told me that he wasn’t dangerous.

I gave him a slight smile and reached forward taking his hand.  It was an odd hand.  A hand like a sim, but it was also very hairy.  “It’s okay.  I overreacted.  My name is Tyme Emerald-Lemi.”  I shook his hand like my mother had taught me.

He introduced himself as Weston Hale and explained that he was a werewolf, and despite all the hair, his sharp claws and teeth and glowing yellow eyes; he had a great smile.  It was a smile that made me feel at easy.  We settled into an easy and comfortable conversation and before either of us knew it two hours had passed.

“Hey Tyme.  I know you don’t know me that well, but can I show you my favorite place in Moonlight Falls?”

“You’re not going to eat me for dinner are you?”  I let the joke tumble out of my mouth.

“Ha..ha very funny.”  He beamed back.

“Sure.” I took his hand and he lead the way.

“Weston it is beautiful here.”

“It is my favorite place in Moonlight Falls.”  He reiterated what he told me earlier.

We stood in silence for what seemed like forever and then turned to each other and smiled.

We spent the rest of the time talking, laughing and enjoying each other’s company.  I didn’t want the night to end.

When the sun started to rise Weston mumbled something about changing back into his human form and strayed away from me.  He walked to the edge of the pond and picked a handful of flowers and brother them to me.

“Tyme you are the nicest prettiest girl I have ever met.  I am so glad that fate has brought us together.”  He handed me the flowers with a smile.

“I love them.”  I screeched pulling them up to my nose.  “Thank you.”

Weston pulled me into a tight hug as the sun lightened up the sky.  “Tyme if you let me I want to protect you forever.”  He whispered in my ear.  As he let me go I kissed his furry cheek and tears glistened in my eyes.

Then Weston turned back into a boy.  We exchanged numbers and he promised to call so we could spend more time together after we got a couple of hours of sleep.

~~

BARKLAY’S POV

Over the next week Fern, Delphinium and I had become inseparable.  Everyone moment we were awake we were all together.  Delphinium was such a great gal….such a great fairy and she was super fun to spend time with.

Our last day in Moonlight Falls we decided to spend the day at the falls.

Fern insisted getting out picture taken next to this big rock sculpture.  “Say Cheese.”  Delphinium giggled as she flittered above us.

We spent the day fishing.  Delphinium actually liked to skip rocks or practice her fairy magic more than fish, but it was just great having her with is.  Look at this Fern caught a frog and a quite a big frog it is.

Delphinium decided to have some fun and cast a temporary spell on me.  The spell allowed me to flit like a fairy so I challenged her to a race to the falls.  It was great fun and I never knew how freeing flitting could be.  Of course I won, I think she let me win, and we fell into each other’s arms in laughter.

Then we stood very close to one another and watched the water from the falls tumble over the rocks.

Then without warning Delphinium leaned over and kissed me sweetly on the cheek.

“What was that for?”  I asked rubbing my cheek where her lips had been moments before.

She grinned at me slyly.  “Oh so you don’t forget me Barklay.”  Her voice was playful and coy.  It was like she was playing another one of her fairy tricks on me, but nothing happened.

I gave her a slanted look trying to figure out what her secret was, but I was unable to figure it out.  “I won’t forget you Del.”  Using the nickname I had given her.

“I know you want.  I’ve just ensured that.”  She let out a sing-song laugh and flitted away from me to say her good-byes to Fern.

~~

TYME’S POV

The last night we were in Moonlight Falls Weston called me and told me he had a special night planned for us.

He picked me up from Ash’s house and the first place he took me was the museum where we both and an appreciation for the artists.  Then we went to the public pool where were enjoyed a swim, but while we were there a full moon rose.  Weston changed before my eyes and a creature I have never seen before came around the corner.

Weston told me to change quickly and that we needed to leave immediately and head to someplace safe.  He had forgotten it was a full moon.

We left the pool and Weston rushed me along mumbling about Zombies, and how stupid he felt for forgetting that it was a full moon.  We got on the bus and as it drove off he explained that Zombies loved to eat human flesh and nothing but pea-shooters stop them.  My skin shivered with goose bumps at the thought and he draped his arm around my shoulder.  “You don’t have to worry, Tyme.  I will always keep you safe.”

We pulled up to a place call the Werewolf’s Lair and rushed inside.  There weren’t a lot of people there and Weston explained that this was a place where werewolves and their friends hung out, but most supernatural creatures liked to be out during a full moon.

During our time at the hangout we played foosball, had a great dinner and had the mystical ball tell us a great love is awaiting us.  I couldn’t help to smile at Weston when we were told that.

When it was safe to go back outside we went out to get some air hand in hand.  The full moon gave us both a strong sensation and Weston whirled around and we shared out first kiss.   When we broke our connection Weston puffed up his chest and howled at the moon.  This set me off in a fit of giggles.

However, those giggles soon turned into tears with the realization that this was Weston and I’s last night together.  Weston was sweet wiping my tears away and telling me that things would work out.  The bus ride back to Ash’s house was quite.   We held each other tightly but neither of us spoke.

The next day Weston was allowed to go with us to the airport.  We said a sad good-bye filled with kisses and hugs and promises that thing would work out, but as I sat staring out the window of the airplane I didn’t have much faith that things would work out.  I mean how many teenage long distance love’s last?

~~~
ASHBY’S POV
While the teenagers were gone the boys were adjusting just fine as children.   Mason fancied the new rocking horses I bought Monroe loved the cats and Marko, my little loner, loved the rocking chair up in the toy room.
Asher thought it would be great to have fresh honey at his restaurant so he bought some bees.  I know what was he thinking?  However, I want to make my husband as happy as he makes me so I didn’t say anything and I tended to those pesky things everyday and soon I became quite good at gathering the honey.
I was so happy when my children returned from their trip, but it didn’t take me long to realize that they had changed.  Well two of the three of them had changed a lot, but Fern was pretty much the same.  Barklay walked around in a daze all the time texting and calling his friend Delphinium.  When asked if they were more than friends he would sigh deeply, smile and say, “Nope we are just friends.”  His behavior was quite odd.
Then there was Tyme.  Another one of my beautiful girls who was going through a heartache.  She and Weston talked and text all the time but she couldn’t contain how unhappy she was to be apart from him.  I wanted to make it better, but what could I do?
Time went along like this and soon it was time for the Teenagers to age up so that I could move forward with my challenge.
~~~

TYME’S POV

It was the night before Fern, Barklay and I were to age up when we heard a knock on the door.  Mom wasn’t expecting anyone and we really did live so far away from town that it was unusual for anyone to just show up without warning so we were all baffled by the knock.

I was in the reading room and heard mom head to answer it.  When I heard mom yell, “Tyme, the door is for you.” I was even more puzzled.

I put my book back on the shelf where I had pulled it from, smoothed out my dress, and headed to the door and I was stopped in my tracks by the sight of who was waiting for me.

I ran the rest of the way across the room and flung myself into his arms.  It was Weston.  he was here and he was already a young adult.  We held each other for the longest time neither one of us wanting to let go.

“What are you doing here?”  I couldn’t help by admire his handsome face.

“Um….your mom sent me a ticket telling me you were ageing up and that I should be here.”  He scratched his head hoping I liked the surprise.

“Oh mom.”  I pitched myself at her hugging her tight.  “This is the best present you could have given me.”

She kissed my forehead.  “Why don’t you and Weston head outback for some privacy.  I will make up the guest room.”

It was another sleepless night and I didn’t care.  Weston and I spent most of it just sitting together staring at the moonlight, drinking in the fact that we were together again and in just a few hours we would both be young adults ready to face the world.

~~~
ASHBY’S POV
The next day the house was bustling with the activities of getting a party ready for the triplets to age up.  The party was as success and soon another set of my “babies” were young adults ready to take on life.
Look at them!  Fern so stunning with her red/white Starr hair and deep blue eyes.  Tyme with her cute button nose and stylish style and Barklay the baby with his cool hair and manly features.  These three are going to accomplish anything they set their minds to.  I am sad to let them go, but super eager to see what they do in life.
~~~

TYME’S POV

The plan was for us to move out of mom’s house the day after we aged up, but unbeknownst to me plans had been changed.

The morning of “move” day Weston asked if we could go for a walk and check out the beautiful view of the ocean before we left.  I agreed and we walked along the beach, near my parent’s house, arm in arm.  The walk was cut short when Weston turned to me and grabbed my shoulders.

“Tyme Emerald Lemi do you love me?”  He asked me out of the blue.

“Yes.”  I picked off a piece of lint from the shoulder of his shirt and gave him a puzzled look.  “What’s this about?”

With a quick motion Weston pulled out a box from his pocket and dropped to one knee.  He wasn’t fancy and he didn’t give a speech.  “Marry me.”  And that was all I needed.

I allowed him to slid the ring on my finger and pull me into a hug.  “Yes…Yes… A million times yes.”  Tears were streaming down my face and I couldn’t imagine that I could be any happier then I was right then.

~~~
ASHBY’S POV
The kids decided they wanted to get married in a week.  In a week!!  That doesn’t give me much time, but luckily being a challenge mom prepares you for things like this and I was skilled party planner.  I got on the phone and started to make deals and arrangements and within a couple of days I had everything lined up to throw them a small, but beautiful wedding. The only thing Tyme had to do was find her dress.
Two days before the big day Tyme came crying to me.  “Mom I can’t find anything that is right.  What am I going to do?”
I began listing off places where she could look and she continued to sob telling me she had already looked there.  I couldn’t bear to see my child so upset when it should be the happiest time of her life so I took her hand and stood her up.  I wiped the tears from her pretty eyes.  “Come with me.  I may have an idea.”
I led her up to the attic and moved stuff around until I found what I was looking for.  The big cedar chest had a layer of dust on it, but I knew what was inside had been preserved and protected.  I knelt before it and released the latch.  The lid opened with a creak and the glorious smell of cedar filled the room.  Standing up I pulled out a plastic covered dress.  Sliding the plastic off of it I handed it to Tyme.
She took in a deep breath.  “Mom this is beautiful.  Is this what you wore when you marred Papa Asher?”  She ran her hand over the lace on the sleeves.
“No honey.  Asher and I eloped.  This is the dress I wore when I married Connery Bright.”  Tears stung my eyes and threatened to fall.  My kids knew about Connery, but none of them really knew the love the two of us shared.
She saw the look on my face and her face fell.  “Are you sure you want me to wear this?”
“Honey, do you want to wear the dress?”  I asked back.
She shook her head slowly as if she was ashamed to admit that she wanted to wear the dress.  I lifted her chin up for her to look me in the eyes.  “Then you wear it.  You will look stunning in it.”
Two days later my little girl was Mrs. Weston Hale.  The wedding was beautiful and even Ao was there to celebrate the marriage of one of is his daughters.
That was the last day my Emerald triplets lived under my roof.  When the celebrations were over Fern and Barklay climbed into their loaded car and headed off for their new places of resident and Tyme and Weston were off on the honeymoon Asher, Ao and I all chipped in to send them on.
It was time to move on with my challenge.
~~
This pregnancy was fun because I shared the time with a pregnant Hazel.   Yep Fire and Hazel were expecting kittens.  How fun is that?
Let’s Smutzle.  I did a lot of working out and dancing during this pregnancy.  The boys were busy with school.  Something big was happening at Asher’s restaurant and I had no little ones to take care of.  So it was something to pass the time.
Yeah Hazel had her kittens.  A little girl Tigeress and a little boy Sneaky.
I should let you know who the next day was.  It was Birthstone dad Auburn Ruby.
Everyone meet triplets Lavinnia, Luna and Weaver Ruby-Lemi.
I am so glad that both Lavinnia and Luna got their father’s skin tone.  The last Red child I had was Greyson, baby # 3.  It also makes me so very happy that Mason got my mom’s skin tone.  He looks so much like her in the face, but got my new hair color and his dad’s red eyes.
I’m going to leave you with this.  This is the current Lemi house-hold.
The hugging siblings are Mason (Child) and Weaver (Toddler). The piggyback pair is Marko (Child) and Lavinnia (Toddler) ~ Of course you know Ashby and Asher ~ The pony ride pair or Monroe (child) and Luna (Toddler). The cat on the rocking chair is Hazel, the black cat is Fire and the kittens (left to right) is Tigeress and Sneaky.
Thank you all for reading. It means a lot that you all keep coming back and the encouragement you provide.
I would love to hear you what think…how you like the new writing style….perhaps what you want to see in the Lemi challenge. You can leave me a comment here or find me on Facebook under Ashby Lemi.
Don’t forget that if you want any of the Lemi children they are available for download as young adults and you can find their links on the table of content page. If you want to find me on the sims3 website you can find me under Xur28.
Ashby Lemi’s – Babies 49, 50 and 51
Hi everyone..yep it is me again Ashby. I am sure you are getting tired of my blog going from first person to third, but Nina; my good friend and the person who has been writing my blog for some time now, had to go back to her country. She had some family issues she has to take care of. Victor offered to get me another author, but I decided that the rest of the challenge will be written by a Lemi. That being said you will see things written by me and I have given access to all of my kids and they have promised that if there is something to report about them they will log in post it.
So last time the blog left you with news that Orchid and Dutton moving out, Leven and Hooper becoming Teens and Fern, Tyme and Barklay were born, and since then a lot has happened and Leven is going to start off this post.
LEVEN’S POV
Hi everyone, it’s me Leven. I’m not a great writer, but I am going to give it a whirl.
Not long after Hooper and I started high school I began to have a shadow. A new family, The Falk’s, had moved into town and their boy, Brighton, began following me around. At first I found it kind of creepy to see him outside of my classes and at my locker at any given time during the day, but then he started to become sort of sweet when he would offer to carry my books and open doors for me. I never let him carry my books but it was sweet.
About three weeks after school started he and his sister, Yusun, announced they were having a party. They randomly handed out invites, but he asked me personally. He told me that he wanted to get to know me better and that is why they were having this party. I told him I would think about going and it seemed to make him happy.
I found myself intrigued because I heard that the Falk’s lived on a house boat. It was rumored that Mr. Falk traveled around the world for his job and living on a boat allowed them to be mobile. I wasn’t prepared to go on my own so I con’d Hooper into going with me.
We showed up at 2 and we were taken back.  Brighton was standing on the deck waiting for us.  I couldn’t believe that they really lived on a houseboat.
He quickly ran down to great us. He shook Hooper’s hand and threw his arm around my shoulders. I was surprised with myself when I didn’t push it away. It felt kind of nice. He slowly guided me to the boat as he talked about the fun day we were going to have. I found myself smiling up at this handsome face. It was a very strange sensation.
He gave Hooper and I a tour of the boathouse as some of our classmates began to show up. Yusun was a gracious host and greeted them. After everyone arrived we had lunch, and what a spread they had. It was buffet style and we had so much to choose from.
After lunch some jumped into the ocean to cool off while other of us lay out on the deck of the boat and took in the sun.
We had a great time dancing.
Then without warning Brighton swept me into his arms and held me close.  He didn’t care who was watching or what people thought.  He held me tightly in his arms for two songs, and when the second song was over he asked me to go on a walk with him and I agreed.
We found a beautiful spot with grass, not sand, and we both sat down. He pulled me against him and I found myself quite comfortable listening to his heart beat against his chest. He rubbed my back and I smiled widely.
“Leven, I really like you. Will you be my girlfriend?” Brighton sprung the question on me and I sat up and looked at him with a puzzled expression. I didn’t know what to say and I just stared at him.
He chuckled lifting his hand to my check. He rubbed his thumb over my cheek and I shivered with excitement. I couldn’t deny that Brighton made me blush. “I…I…can I let you know at school on Monday?” I stammered like a true awkward teenager.
Another laugh escaped his lips. “Sure.” was his sweet reply as he pulled me back down to him.
That evening as the sun sank into the ground Brighton walked me out and I received my very first kiss. The butterflies consumed me as his lips brushed up against mine and cold when his hands ran up my arms. My knees were weak as he pulled me closer to him and then it was over. It was over way to soon. I found myself wanting to answer his earlier question right then and there, but I felt I had to live up to my promise of Monday.
As I walked toward that car that would take Hooper and I hope I heard my brother snicker in his seat. “Shut up.” I hissed but I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face.
I didn’t hear from Brighton on Sunday, but I didn’t mind. I wasn’t the typical high school girl who got upset over things like that, but I was eager for Monday to come so that I could find him, throw myself into his arms and tell him I would be his girl. However, my Monday plans were ruin when I got to school and neither Brighton or Yusun could be found. I was told that their father lifted anchor and took his family to the next business destination.
I didn’t quite believe this horrid rumor I heard and after school I dragged Hooper to the location of the boat house. As we looked at the empty water where the boat was just two days before Hooper pulled me into a protective hug as I sobbed onto his shoulder.
ASHBY’S POV
It hurt my heart to watch my daughter mope around the house. I told her that things would be better and that everyone goes through a broken heart at some point in their life, but all I got was a blank stare as I talked. I knew that going though heart-break while being young it feels like the end of the world and I knew she would eventual get over it, but that didn’t stop me from trying to make my baby-girl feel better.
Then I got heartbreaking news myself. News that almost made me give up my challenge for the second time during the time I have been doing this challenge.
My son Jones had been in and out of the hospital since he was born. The doctors never really knew what kept him sick, but every few months he was either home sick or sick enough to be in the hospital.
When he and his twin Seely aged into children I offered, as I do to all my children, to send them to a specialty boarding school if they would like. Seely, as all my other children had before him, opted to stay home and be with me and our family, but Jones, to my surprise, took me up on my offer. He told me he had already done some research and wanted to be sent to a specialty school in Hidden Springs. I was shocked and my first instinct was to tell him he couldn’t go; that he couldn’t leave me, but Asher saved me, as he always does, from that embarrassment.
A few days later I made the arrangements.
The night before he left I stood at the bottom of the stairs and watched some of my children bond over one of their favorite movies, but I could see the sadness in the room.  Seely was distracted as he looked down to the carpet and Leven had been just as worried and upset as I had been all week-long.
I was like a visible shadow in the house that night. I followed Jones everywhere. After the movie was over Hooper, who had been working out during the movie, read Jones their favorite story and with a tear in his eye kissed him on his head before leaving the room. As Hooper moved passed me I put a reassuring hand on his shoulder. He smiled up at me and left the room.
I took his place next to Jones and pulled the blanket up to his chin.
“Mom I will be okay.” He whispered in a tired voice.
“I know you will.” I flicked the tears away from my eyes.
I knew he wanted to say more, but he was just too tired and his eyes drooped heavily. I stroked his hair as he drifted off to sleep for the last time in his childhood home.
Jones flight wasn’t until the next evening so we all had some more quality time with him. We played games and watched old home movies and ate all of Jones’ favorite junk foods and as afternoon faded to evening we heard the cab horn honk in our driveway and the whole family froze in terror. All but Jones that was. He ran to the door and grabbed his suitcase. “Come on guys..I have to go.” He called.
We all said our good-byes before he headed out the door.
Then just he and I walked out onto the porch.
I scooped him into my arms.
He grabbed my face and said, “Mom I am too big to be picked up.” His voice was hallow and somber just like I felt.
“I know. It’s just that I’m going to miss you my beloved boy. We all are.”
“I’m going to miss you too.” He wiped the tear that slipped down my face. “But there is email, Skype and the phone. I will only be gone in distance.”
“When did you get so smart?” I asked.
“I am what I am because of you mom.” He snaked his arms around my neck and squeezed tightly. “I Love you mom.”
“I love you to Jones. Call me when you get there.”
I set him down and watched him run to the taxi.
You can read more about Jones here
~~
I missed my child but he lived up to his word. As soon as he got to school I got a phone call from him and then every day after I either got a call, email or we arranged to skype so I could see how well he was doing, and doing well he was. After two weeks went by we all started to get back to normal and it was time for another Lemi birthday.
Fern, Tyme and Barklay were now children and oh my Barklay got the evil trait.  This should be interesting.
But wait it looks like the girls may be able to hold their own. Don’t they look like they are plotting against Barklay?
~~
The kids, especially Barklay, hated school and when summer rolled around they we so very excited to have three months off and to meet their big brother and his fiancée Newbie and Dawn. Since she could read Tyme had been reading Dawn’s blog and she thought it was so cool that her brother was in it. I asked her once if she thought it was cool that she was talked about in my blog and this is what she said. “Mom,” In a very sarcastic child like tone I should add, “Your blog doesn’t get as much traffic or has as many fans as Ms. Dawn’s does.” She rolled her eyes at me and sauntered off. Gosh I love my kids.
Then the big day arrived and when I heard the cab pull up into the driveway I ran to the door and was greeted by my angel baby and one of my best friends in the world.
“Newbie, my boy!” I flung myself into his arms and he squeezed me tightly.
“Hi mom.” He couldn’t hide his laugh as we released each other. I know we just skyped the night before to make sure everything was in order, but it isn’t the same as seeing your loved one in person and holding them and hugging them.
Next I grabbed Dawn and pulled her into a giant hug as well. “I have missed you both”
“We have missed you too.” Dawn answered for the both of them and my smile grew wider as I realized how much in love these two were.
Just then cab driver came up behind Newbie and Dawn and handed Newbie a cat carrier. “What is that?” I asked puzzled.
“Mom, Dawn and I have a gift for you.” Newbie grinned at me and handed me the cat carrier.
“Oh?” I put it down and opened the door and two beautiful cats cautiously made their way out.
“We know how much you admire the rainbow cats and there are none here on the island so we brought you a breeding pair.” Dawn was so proud of herself. “So meet Hazel and Fire.”
Hazel
Fire
I loved them instantly and I scooped Fire into my arms and Dawn picked up Hazel.
“Come in, come in.” I ushered them inside and gave them the grand tour of the house.
“Wow mom, this house is beautiful.” Newbie, who had his arm draped over Dawn’s shoulders, said as we ended the tour.
“And this island, well what we saw of it on the drive up here, is beautiful as well.” Dawn added.
“Well I can’t wait to show you around, but first let’s get you settled into your room.”
Their visit was such a wonderful one. Newbie and his new siblings got a long famously, but Leven and Dawn really hit things off.
“Leven, my dear why are you so sad?” I watched Dawn and Leven from the top of the stairs. Gosh you must all think I’m a creeper, but you know what? My house my rules 😉
“Ms. Dawn, have you ever had a broken heart?” I guess my telling her everyone goes through it didn’t really sink in, but I was glad she felt comfortable talking to Dawn.
“Of course Leven, before I fell for your brother I was in love with a man named Lerk. I thought he was the one for me and when we parted it was devastating. Why do you ask?”
Leven let it all out then. She told Dawn all about Brighton and how his family just left and she hasn’t even gotten a call, text, letter or email from him letting her know he was okay or that he was sorry they had to leave so suddenly.
Dawn had all the right words for the young Leven and by the end of the conversation they were both laughing. Sometimes a mother’s word is not taken, but the same words from a friend go a long way. I am not sure that Leven is completely over her loss, but talking to Dawn sure did help.
Many mornings Dawn and I would go out in the back, by the little pond we have, and do some yoga.  The children were sleeping late and the men were watching some brainless man show and we just enjoyed the quite.  The chipping of the birds, the crock of the frogs and the splashing of the fish, it was quite relaxing.
“So are you nervous about the wedding?” I asked Dawn causally as we sat in the cool waters of the pond one morning after yoga.
Dawn giggled nervously. “Should I be talking to you about this? You are my finances’ mother.”
“Dawn, I’m your friend too, but if you would rather….”
“Yes!” She blurted out. “I have no idea why either. I love Newbie and we already live together why would the marriage make me nervous?”
I took her hand. “Because things will change. They may be small subtle things, but things are going to change.”
“I’m not sure I want things to change, but I want to marry Newbie with all my heart and soul.”
“Honey, it will be fine. You two are perfect together.”
“Babe!” I heard Asher call from the house. “When are you going to make breakfast? The kids will be up soon.”
I looked at Dawn and we both laughed. “I don’t get him. He is the one who owns his own restaurant and teaches cooking and I am the one who has to make breakfast.” I rolled my eyes and we got out of the pond and headed toward the house.
AHSER’S POV
Hi folks…I guess it is my turn to write in Ashby’s blog. I hope I don’t bore you all too much.
So two days before Dawn and Newbie were to leave I decided to take Newbie out for a day. Just the two of us doing guy stuff.
We spent the morning working on out golfing skills.  I’m still not that great but we had a good time.
Then I took him to the local bar and grill for some lunch.  Our conversations were filled with guy stuff like sports, our women and food.  It was a great bonding moment for us.  Newbie may not be my child, but I love all Ashby’s children as if they were my own.
After we ate we headed upstairs to play a little shuffle board. I decided that this was the time to bring up his impending marriage. I cleared my throat and began. “So Newbie, are you nervous about the wedding night.” I knew he caught my drift by the look on his face.
Newbie let out a deep laugh and looked at me. “Asher, Dawn and I have two kids together, remember?”
“I know, but your children are grown. It has been a while.”
“Also it wasn’t that long ago I was dating Breeze. I am an adult you know?”
I gulped loudly. This was not going as planned not at all.
“No offence Asher, but you’re not my dad.”
I knew he meant it in the most respectful way and he was right I’m not his dad, but the words still hurt. Ashby has 48 (49 counting Derrick) children and only five of them were mine. It is hard to in a relationship like that. I just wanted all her kids to be mine and to love me as if I were their father, but it just isn’t possible. “I’m sorry if I over stepped. I just thought since your father is an angel and he wasn’t around when you were growing up I could try to help in some way.” I was trying to hide the hurt expression on my face, but I think I failed at it.
Newbie’s face sank and he moved toward placing his hand on my shoulder. “Asher, you are a great man. You take care of my mom, love her and understand her challenge when most men wouldn’t. You love all of us as if we were yours and we love and respect you back. I would be proud to be your son, but we all have fathers.”
His words were precious to me. His mother really did raise him right. I wipe a single tear from my eye and smile at the lad before me.
“Come on Asher. Let’s head back to the house.”
ASHBY’S POV
It was our last night with our house guests and Dawn and I decided to head out to the local casino for a night of fun and gambling (smart gambling though).
We sat down at a table, both of us not really knowing what we were doing, and we handed the dealer our money and he gave us some red chips in return.
The first couple of rounds both Dawn and I seemed to have good hands. Hands that warranted one of us to get some money for it.
Then our luck began to change.  After we began to start losing our money the game wasn’t much fun anymore and we soon quit.
We had a great time at the casino and I was going to be sad when my friend and son left, but I also knew that I would be seeing them again soon to watch them down the aisle.
It seems like most flights off the island leave at night and Dawn and Newbie’s flight was no exception and since they had most of the day left we decided to go to the boardwalk for the day.
The kids were especially excited for this. We all watched as the younger ones played some skeet ball. Seely was the winner of this game. As I watched my kids I couldn’t help but worry about Seely and Jones being separated, but was glad that Fern, Tyme and Barklay included him in almost everything they did.
I stood next to my husband and couldn’t help but whisper in his ear how handsome he looked and how good he smelled.
These two are just the cutest ever.  I couldn’t wait for them to walk down the aisle and become man and wife.
Asher and I waited in line for the Ferris Wheel.  I just can’t stop myself from admiring his handsome face.
Newbie handed his camera to Asher. “Mom, come take a picture with Dawn and I.”
I walked over to the loving couple and Newbie threw his arm around me. “1…2…3…”Asher called and snapped this picture. FYI Dawn is not preggo….it is just the material on her shirt and the angle of the camera.
Then Newbie looked at his watch. “Mom we need to get our luggage out of your car. Our cab will be here in ten minutes.”
I sighed and looked into his face. I never had enough time with my kids ever. Not growing up and not when they visit. “Okay but first can we get a family picture?”
“Sure.”
I gave my camera to the skeet ball vender and this is the picture he got of us:
Nice looking family if I do say so myself.
After the picture was taken we headed down to the car and got Newbie and Dawn’s luggage and soon their cab pulled up. We said our good-byes and as the sun began to sink they drove away and we got in to the car and headed home.
~~
About a week after Newbie and Dawn left I decided to get moving with my challenge so I called up the next birthday stone guy.
Remember this guy?  This is Linen Pearl.  He was the next guy in line for my challenge and he ran right over when I called him.  We headed to the hospital and soon I was pregnant with baby 49.
During my pregnancy Leven and Hooper aged up and moved out of the house. What lovely young adults they were. Leven with her grandma’s hair coloring and my skin tone and eye coloring and Hopper with his dads hair and skin coloring and my eye coloring, gosh they are going to do well in whatever they do.
~~
When the kids went back to school I decided to do some “spring” cleaning if you will. I had boxes that I inherited after my parents died that I had never sorted through and though this pregnancy would be a good time do this. What I found was priceless and brought tears to my eyes.
It was old pictures of my parents when my mom was pregnant with me.  I missed my parents so very much but finding these was more valuable than gold to me.
hahaha Mom you are too cute. What are you trying to seduce dad when you are about ready to give birth? I’m not sure I would appreciate that. HAHAHHA
Needless to say I got them framed and these pictures now hang up in my home.
I also got a package from my son Jones.
He had gone through the family albums and found a painter to paint this for me. It is a picture of me, my dad (if he were still living) and my boys that inherited my father’s genes.
From right to left (I know we usually say left to right, but it will make more sense doing it this way): Jones, Lawrence (my dad), Me (with my original hair color), Newbie, Dallas (Newbie’s son with Dawn) and Dallas’ son Ash (with Carlie Fey, Logan Fey’s daughter).
~~
The children were settled back in school when the new baby, or should I say babies arrived.
Everyone meet Mason (baby 49), Monroe (baby 50) and Marko (baby 51).
Can you all believe it? I am now at the halfway mark. I am so excited. This is amazing. Thank you all for being a long on this ride. I love you all.
Again as always thank you all for reading and I would love to hear what you have to say about the challenge. Feedback, even bad (but not Hateful), is welcome. You can leave me a message here or on my Facebook page at Ashby Lemi.
Remember if you want any of my children I upload them as Young Adults and you can find their links on the table of content page.
